Our recommendations with star reviews are as follows:
3-5 Stars -> Good - Great films; highly recommend
2.5 Stars -> Borderline film; cautiously recommend
1-2 Stars -> Not a good film; do not recommend

Scream – 8.1/10

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Scream is one of the best slasher type films to date. Most slasher/horror films fail to deliver, but this one doesn’t, a great experience but I wish it was released closer to Halloween.

The Batman – 9.2/10

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

One of the best Batman films to date. A gritty performance by Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, along with a great film and plot puts this movie at one of the best films of 2022 already. Excited for another iteration of this Batman played by Pattinson. Link to full review -> https://cbcinematicuniverse.com/2022/03/31/the-batman-review/

The Outfit – 7.8/10

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I was surprised a movie that seems to be shot in just one place got such a high rating, but the film kept me on my toes the entire time. Exciting and entertaining plot along with a strong performance by Mark Rylance (Leonard)

Death On The Nile – 7.3/10

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Gal Gadot rarely disappoints, and she has another good performance in death on the nile. An interesting murder mystery film that keeps you on your toes the entire movie. There are certainly worse murder mystery films and this one keeps your attention.

Jackass Forever – 7.5/10

Rating: 3 out of 5.

It’s hard for Jackass to make a truly bad movie, this is another classic Jackass film, some great stunts and some okay stunts…but it keeps your entertained throughout the movie. Overall a solid film.

Studio 666 – 6.2/10

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Overall mediocre acting with a lame plot. Not too many exciting parts.

Uncharted – 7.9/10

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg make a good duo. Some great comedic timing and an exciting plot. Not a classic movie but keeps you wanting to watch more. Tom Holland’s acting is A+, and Mark Wahlberg has still got it.

Morbius – 6.2/10

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Disappointing film, as the characters really lacked any substance and the character arcs are mediocre at best. There was just nothing to work with the story at all, which is a shame because I think Jared Leto actually did a good job of playing Morbius. I’m not sure if they plan on making a second iteration but they need to step it up big time.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 – 8.5/10

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Another hit performance by James Marsden and the crew. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were all fantastic, and the plot was really strong. The standout performance of Jim Carrey really takes the cake though. I can’t imagine a better Dr. Robotnik than him, as he puts on a stellar performance as a hilarious villain.

Fantastic Beasts – The Secrets of Dumbledore – 6.8/10

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Dumbledore’s love interest is revealed early on in the film, and really had very little bearing on the overall plot of the movie. The “fantastic beasts” portion (which was great) of the movie series is practically gone, and Newt, who was once the star is almost a background character, with Dumbledore popping in and out of the film. I wish the Harry Potter prequel went into more of the background of some of the characters we know and love (Dumbledore, Snape, Hagrid, etc) more, rather than this Fantastic Beasts version.

The Northman – 7/10

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Some really strange scenes in the beginning of the film between king Aurvandill and Amleth, who seem to have a really strong relationship. Amleth seemed to be set out on revenge for his father’s death, but overall his character didn’t end up becoming very likeable. He was a berserker his entire life, pretty much just a murderer; which in my mind doesn’t really carry your fathers legacy very well. He ends up becoming a father, only to abandon his unborn children within literal minutes of knowing them. The action is pretty solid, but no characters to root for in this movie.

Everything Everywhere All at once – 8.2/10

Rating: 4 out of 5.

What started off as just a normal family affair type movie, this was far from that. Evelyn Wang, the main character goes through a ton of familial and financial struggles, only to find out she’s actually one of the important individuals in the multiversal quest to fight the main villain, Jobu Tupaki (who is actually her daughter in another universe). The movie hops between scenes of her living various life’s in the multiverse, with some hilarious scenes in between. Some really high quality writing, producing, and acting in this movie makes this a great overall film.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – 9.4/10

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

What a crazy movie. Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) continues to put on strong performances in the MCU. Wanda (Scarlett Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen) continues her strong performance after her hit series, Wanda Vision. America Chavez played by Xochitl Gomez was good, not great, in this film, and Wong’s character was a bit disappointing as his role of the Sorcerer Supreme. The multiverse concept brings in an onslaught of new and old characters, as well as ideas. Marvel is back on track after a poor Morbius showing.
